Allied Minds has partnered with University of Washington to establish AXI, LLC to commercialize novel technology that creates advantageous strains of algae for the production of biofuels. These new algae strains will bridge the gap between the promise of clean energy generation and the reality of economical biofuel production systems.

The research team at the Cattolico Laboratory at the University of Washington has been investigating the physiology of algae for more than 25 years. The result of this work is the discovery of several unique and advantaged varieties of algae, and, more importantly, the ability to customize and optimize virtually any species of algae to maximize its commercial usefulness.
